What i did, was to slide 3 square nuts into the extrusion. You
then need to mark where they line up on the bonnet and drill holes
through the bonnet. remember the screen isn't square to the bonnet,
so the holes will be slightly in front of the aluminium.
You can then bolt the screen on as usual using the screen pillars.
Once done, hopefully the three extra holes still line up and you
can put bolts through from under the bonnet into the nuts in the
aluminium. You will have to add angled spacers under the bonnet
to a) spread the load and to give the bolt something flat to rest
on.
problems:
1. you need to slide a bit of the tadpole beading on, then a nut,
then some more beading...
2. lining the holes up.
3. getting the bolts the right length. I used really long bolts
which I put in as tight as possible with threadlock on. They didn't
hold the bonnet tight at this stage, but I cut the heads off of
them which turned them into studding, and used nuts. It did work
really well and doesn't notice from the outside.- Paul.
